COMMUNITY FRUIT HARVESTING

Monty's is proud to support Community Fruit Harvesting who send volunteers out to pick fruit in people's backgardens which they then donate to charities like Auckland City Mission for them to include in food hampers.  We really like the idea that fruit is not left to rot in gardens when there are sadly, many people in NZ going hungry.  So far there are groups set up in Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington. 

If you would like to start this in your region please drop us a line or post on the Community Fruit Harvesting page. Each group also needs a few things to get going so if you're able to help with donations of secateurs, ladders, long handled fruit pickers or glass jars for jam making please feel free to donate to this fantastic group of people.

Congratulations to Dean Allnutt for collecting the award at the North Harbour Rugby Prizegiving on the 11/11/2010 for Outstanding Contribution to Development of Senior Rugby.  He has certainly put his heart and soul into his rugby and we're very proud of him.  Buck Shelford was the first person to win this cup back in 1998 so he's in good company.
