Travellers to South Africa Needed

BEANIES FOR AFRICA

CALLING ALL SOUTH AFRICAN TRAVELLERS WE NEED YOUR HELP! 

In July 2009 Monty's Promotions decided to collect a few knitted baby beanies to send to Mowbray Maternity Hospital in Cape Town who give out around 700 per month within the local region.  We had collected over 400 by the end of the year which were sent back with various travellers to Cape Town. (½ are now sent to Middlemore in South Auckland as we couldn’t keep up with sending).

In 2010 we have collected nearly 4000 beanies and over 1500 baby vests so we are in desperate need of travellers as my garage is overflowing.

The knitted items have been donated by knitters all over the NZ. We’ve sent as many as we can via friends but we need your help now! They are very light and can be tucked around your luggage.  We recently had a young guy pack them all around his guitar case which was great and cleared quite a few hundred for us. If you are able to help, please email info@montys.co.nz or call Louise (09) 4732357 with how many kilograms you can fit in your luggage.  Remember, the more you take, the more room you’ll have in your bag coming back for Woolies things. Depending on the wool used, 1kg can equal 50 beanies. 

Pick up is at 3 Ashcraig Court, Torbay, Auckland or we can look at sending them to you (we have knitters ALL OVER NZ).  Every little bit helps.  To make it easy when you get to SA, you can take them to any church or hospital as they will know where they are needed and I’m sure will be very grateful to have them.
